AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION OF THE COLLEGE STATION
ENERGY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE: PROVIDING FOR SEVEN (7) MEMSERS;
DETERMINING THE TERM OF OFFICE; PROVIDING FOR THEIR DUTIES AND
THE METHOD OF APPOINTMENT; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT THEREWITH.
sE IT ()RDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF COLLEGE MTATi(3N, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: There is hereby created an Energy Management
Committee to be known as the "College Station Energy Management
Committee", which shall be c~aposed of seven (7) members. The
duties of said committee shall be to advise and recommend to the
City Council all matters concerning the College Station Energy
Department Energy Conservation Programs, the Energy Assistance
P~ogram and to pro~ote citizen involvement in energy conservation
programs conducted by the City of College Station for its inhab-
itants. The Committee shall also carry out all other duties and
responsibilities as may be assigned by the City Council.
SECTION 2: The terms of office for said Energy Management
Committee shall commence on May 1st and shall be for two (2)
yea~s. The members of the Committee shall be appointed by the
City Council on a staggered basis with three expiring on uneven
numbered years and four expiring on even numbered years. The
Council shall app.~int one member of the Committee to serve as
Chalrma~ and one member to serve as V~ce-Chairman on an a,~nual
basis. One member of the C~ty Council shall be appointed to
serve on the Com~ttee as a non-voting representative.
Members appointed to fill vacancies on sa~d Committee
shall be for the remainder of the te~m of ~%is predecessor.
SECTION 3: Said Committee ~s authorized to establish its
own ~ules, regulations, and bylaws sub3ect to ratification by the
City Council and shall provide for regular and special meetings
necessary to carry on ~ts business.
