A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS, APPROVING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE DEMOLITION
OF MERIDIAN APARTMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF
FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, has received bids for
a construction project to demolish the Meridian Apartments; and
WHEREAS, a construction contract for the Demolition of the Meridian Apartment
Project has been signed and completed by the Contractor; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas:
PART 1: That the City Council hereby approves the contract with Laughlin
Environmental for $163,673.00 for the labor, materials, and equipment required to
demolish twelve (12) two-story apartment structures formerly operated as the Meridian
Apartments, Phase III with all materials disposed of as asbestos-related debris including
removal of the concrete slab.
PART 2: That the City Council hereby finds that Laughlin Environmental is the
lowest responsible bidder.
PART 3: That the funding for this project shall be as budgeted from Community
Development Block Grant Funds, Project No. CD 1244.
PART 4:
passage.
That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its
