A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS, PROVIDING A GRANT TO 301 CHURCH AVENUE, L.P. FOR IMPROVEMENTS
FOR IMPROVED PEDESTRIAN ACCESS TO A DORMITORY FACILITY IN THE
NORTHGATE AREA AND TO PROMOTE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND
REDEVELOPMENT OF THE NORTHGATE AREA ALONG BOYETT AND SECOND
STREETS 1N COLLEGE STATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized by Section 380, TEXAS LOCAL GOVT. CODE, to
provide for grants of public money to promote local economic development and to stimulate
business in the City of College Station; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is actively seeking economic development prospects, capital
investment and new jobs in College Station; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
PART 1:
That the City Council hereby authorizes the grant of funds in an
amount not to exceed $31,320.00, to 301 Church Avenue, L.P. for the
actual cost to upgrade the construction of sidewalks from unstamped
and uncolored concrete to stamped, colored concrete on Second and
Boyett Streets between Church and Louise Streets in connection with
301 CHURCH AVENUE, L.P.' s The Tradition at Northgate
Dormitory project.
PART 2:
That the City Council is making this grant in light of 301 CHURCH
AVENUE, L.P.'s commitment to construct a dormitory facility in
Northgate in College Station with a capital investment of
$25,000,000.00.
PART 3:
That the City Council is hereby establishing this program or process or
grant of funds to promote the City of College Station economy and to
foster urban redevelopment in the Northgate area as well as provide
safe and affordable housing for students and promote jobs and capital
investment in College Station.
PART 4: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage.
