A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, APPROVING A GRANT
APPLICATION WITH THE TEXAS FOREST SERVICE TO CONDUCT AN URBAN
FORESTRY TRAINING PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Texas Forest Service, in cooperation with the U.S.D.A. Forest Service and the
Texas Urban Forestry Council, Inc., has established a statewide Public Outreach Challenge
Grant Program as part of its overall goal of developing and improving urban forestry programs
in communities across Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station desires to apply for a matching grant
to coordinate an Arborist Training Workshop; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
PART 1: That the City Council hereby approves the grant application for $6,410.00 for the
purpose of training urban forestry personnel.
PART 2:
That the City Council hereby agrees to provide the local match contribution for
$6,410.00 as listed on the application and to supply 50% or more of the total cost of
the training project through registration fees.
PART 3:
That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby authorizes and designates
the Director of Parks and Recreation to sign the agreements with the Texas Forest
Service for this program on behalf of the City of College Station.
PART 4: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
ADOPTED this 27th day of January, A.D. 2000.
