COLLEGE STATION CITY COUNCIL
Special Meeting
June 14, 2000

COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor McIlhaney, Mayor Pro Tem Mariott,
Councilmembers Hazen, Silvia, Garner, Maloney
COUNCIL MEMBER ABSENT: Councilman Massey
STAFF PRESENT:
City Manager Brymer, City Secretary Hooks, Assistant to
the City Manager Brandenburg, Staff Assistant Tucker
This special meeting was held jointly with the City of Bryan and members of the Brazos
Commissioners Court. The meeting was held at the Brazos Center, 3232 Briarcrest Drive in
Bryan.
Mayor Mcllhaney called the meeting to order at 6:48 p.m. Mayor Stabler and Mayor Mcllhaney
led the pledge of allegiance. They welcomed everyone to the meeting. Commissioner Randy
Sims provided the invocation.
The group enjoyed dinner and spent a few moments visiting with their counterparts from the City
of Bryan and Brazos County officials.
College Station City Manager Tom Brymer and Bryan City Manager Mike Conduff made a
presentation on the various joint projects between the two cities. Some of these efforts involve
police, fire, city beautification, sanitation, recycling, and economic development ventures. The
purpose of this meeting was to introduce these items and discuss them in greater detail during the
upcoming joint retreat scheduled for July 14-15.
Mr. Brymer and Mr. Conduff spoke about the upcoming retreat and listed some of the proposed
components of the meetings. The Aspen Group from Colorado would serve as the facilitators of
the session. Councilmembers expressed comments about the importance of having media
coverage on the collaborative efforts that exist between the local governmental entities.
Without objection, the meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
