GRANT APPLICATION WITH THE U.S. FIRE ADMINISTRATION OF THE FEDERAL
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR FUNDING FROM THE ASSISTANCE TO
FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM FOR ACQUISITION OF EQUIPMENT THAT WILL
ENHANCE COMMUNICATIONS, IMPROVE COMMUNICATION INTEROPERABILITY
WITH MULTIPLE AGENCIES, AND ENHANCE PERSONNEL ACCOUNTABILITY AT
EMERGENCY SCENES.
WHEREAS, the U.S. Fire Administration of the Federal Emergency Management Agency
receives and administers grant funds under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, 44 CFR
Part 152, for the purpose of making funds available for local projects that qualify under the list of
eligible categories; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station desires to apply for a grant for
acquisition of equipment that will enhance communications, improve communications
interoperability with multiple agencies, and enhance personnel accountability at emergency
scenes; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
PART 1: That the City Council hereby approves the grant application for $73,500.00 for the
purpose of purchasing equipment.
PART 2: That the City Council hereby agrees to provide the local match contribution of
$31,500.00 as listed on the application.
PART 3: That the City Council hereby authorizes and designates the Fire Chief for the City of
College Station Fire Department to sign agreements with the Federal Emergency
Management Agency for this grant on behalf of the City of College Station.
PART 4: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
