A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS, APPROVING THE W.A. TARROW PARK CORRIDOR MASTER PLAN.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, adopted the Wayne
Smith /Lincoln Center Corridor Master Plan in 1990; and
WHEREAS, the College Station Parks and Recreation Department was directed to revise the Wayne
Smith /Lincoln Center Corridor Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, a revised Wayne Smith /Lincoln Center Corridor Master Plan was prepared with input
from local neighborhoods, community leaders, the Lincoln Center Advisory Committee, the Parks
and Recreation Advisory Board, and the Planning and Zoning Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Wayne Smith /Lincoln Center Corridor Master Plan was renamed the W.A. Tarrow
Park Corridor Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Lincoln Center Advisory Committee unanimously recommended approval of the
W.A. Tarrow Park Corridor Master Plan during a special meeting on February 24, 2003; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board unanimously recommended approval of the
W.A. Tarrow Park Corridor Master Plan during its regular meeting on March 4, 2003; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the
W.A. Tarrow Park Corridor Master Plan during its workshop meeting on April 17, 2003; and
WHEREAS, funding for the design of Phase I of the plan was approved in the FY03 budget
through Community Development Block Grant Funding.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
PART 1: That the City Council hereby approves the revised W.A Tarrow Park Corridor
Master Plan.
PART 2: That the City Council hereby approves staff to proceed with the design of Phase I of
the plan.
PART 3: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
ADOPTED this eighth day of May, AD 2003.
