Brymer Anne Hazen College Station, Embracing the Past, Exploring the Future Minutes College Station City Council Special Meeting Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at 12:00 p.m. City Hall Council Chambers, 1101 Texas Avenue College Station, Texas COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Silvia, Mayor Pro Tem Massey, Council members Garner, Mears, Maloney, Hazen COUNCIL MEMBER ABSENT: Happ STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Brymer, Assistant City Manager Brown, City Attorney Cargill, Jr., City Secretary Hooks, Director of Parks and Recreation Beachy, Director of Human Resources O'Connell, Director of Budget and Strategic Planning Kersten, Public Communications and Marketing Assistant Jett, Municipal Court Judge Spillane Mayor Silvia called the special meeting to order at 12:06 p.m. Aunda Item No. 1-- Presentation, discussion and nossible action on the Canvass of Election Returns for Mav 2, 2003 Election City Secretary Hooks presented a resolution tallying the official votes from the May 3, 2003 Election. Council member Hazen made a motion to approve Resolution 5-7-2003-01 accepting the results. Motion seconded by Council member Garner, which carried unanimously, 6-0. FOR: Silvia, Massey, Garner, Mears, Maloney, Hazen AGAINST: None ABSENT: Happ AEenda Item No. 2- Oath of office to newly elected officers and presentation of Certificate of Election. Municipal Court Judge Spillane served as notary public to witness the oath statement given to the newly elected officials: James Massey, Councilman Place 1 Robert Wareing, Councilman Place 3 Council Meeting 05/07/03 Dennis Maloney, Councilman Place 5 Mayor Silvia presented Council members their certificates of election. Aunda Item No. 3- Adiourn Hearing no objections, the Special Meeting was adjourned at 12:19 p.m. PASSED AND APPROVED this 12th day of June, 2003.
