Brymer MINUTES COLLEGE STATION CITY COUNCIL Special Meeting City Hall Council Chambers Thursday, September 25, 2003 at 5:00 p.m. City Council James Massey John Happ Robert Wareing Scott Mears Dennis Maloney COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Silvia, Mayor Pro Tem Hazen, Massey, Happ, Wareing, Maloney, Mears STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Brymer, Police Chief Feldman, City Attorney Cargill, Jr., Finance Director Cryan, City Secretary Hooks Mayor Silvia called the special meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Agenda ItemNo. 1 -- Presentation, discussion and possible action on the proposed ad valorem tax rate of $0.4777 per $100 assessed valuation for fiscal year 2003 -2004. Budget and Strategic Planning Director Jeff Kersten presented a few brief remarks on the proposed ad valorem tax rate of 47.77 cents and two alternate tax rates of 46.53 cents, a reduced rate; and 45.19 cents the effective tax rate. Robert Wareing moved to approve Ordinance No. 2669 adopting the ad valorem tax rate debt portion at 27.32 cents and operations and maintenance portion at 19.21 cents. Seconded by Council member Happ which carried unanimously, 7 -0. Dennis Maloney moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:05 p.m. Motion seconded by James Massey which carried unanimously, 7 -0.
