HomeMy WebLinkAbout5-23-2002-11.09 - Resolution - 05/23/2002 RESOLUTION NO. 5-23-2002-11.09 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, APPROVING A GRANT APPLICATION WITH THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT FOR FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS RECREATIONAL TRAILS FUND FOR INTERPRETIVE FACILITY DEVELOPMENT ALONG THE RECREATIONAL TRAILS IN WOLF PEN CREEK AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE GRANT DOCUMENTS. WHEREAS, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department administers the National Recreational Trail Fund in Texas under the approval of the Federal Highway Administration for the purpose of constructing new recreational trails, improving/maintaining existing trails, developing/improving trailhead or trailside facilities, and acquiring trail corridors; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station desires to apply for a grant to install interpretive signage along the existing and proposed trail system in Wolf Pen Creek Park; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: Part 1: That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby approves the grant application for $55,000 for the purpose of the purchase and installation of interpretative signs along the Wolf Pen Creek trail system. Part 2: That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby agrees to provide the local match contribution for $21,100 as listed in the application. Part 3: That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby authorizes and designates the City Manager to sign agreements with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for this grant on behalf of the City of College Station. Part 4: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
