HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-19-2002-9.5 - Resolution - 12/19/2002 RESOLUTION NO. 12 -19- 2002 -9.5 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, APPROVING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE TARROW STREET SOUTH REHABILITATION PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS. WHEREAS, the City of College Station, Texas, solicited bids for the construction phase of the Tarrow Street South Rehabilitation Project; and WHEREAS, the selection of Young Contractors, Inc. is being recommended as the lowest responsible bidder for the construction services related to the Tarrow Street South Rehabilitation Project; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas: PART 1: That the City Council hereby finds that Young Contractors, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. PART 2: That the City Council hereby approves the contract with Young Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $398,628.00 for the labor, materials and equipment required for the improvements related to the Tarrow Street South Project with such approval conditioned upon the Texas Department of Transportation's approval of funding for the Project in the total amount of $ 272,448.00. PART 3: That, in the event that the Texas Department of Transportation does not approve the total amount of $272,448.00 in funding for the Project, the contract shall not be approved and awarded and the City of College Station and Young Contractors, Inc. shall not be legally obligated under the contract. PART 4: That the funding for this Project shall be as budgeted from the CIP Street Rehabilitation Fund in the amount of $155,344.00, from 1995 General Obligation Bonds in the amount of $37,000.00, and from the Texas Department of Transportation Urban Street Funding Agreement in the amount of $272,448.00. ti, PART 6: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
