Shepardson, S. R. Wright G• E. Potter, A. Mitchell, R. H, Mitchell, Mrs. H. W. Barlow, H. We Barlow, Mr. T. W. Leland, Mr. Parker, Frank Visoskie, Be R. Smith, Ray Hagler, A. E. Allen, Mr. Thompson, C. J. Gorzycki, Mr. Gibson and A. C. Magee. Councilman Orr made a motions that Ordinance number 1219 an ordinance to adjust the Boundries of the City of College Station, Texas, to include all of the A. %X9 College student apartment area known. as Colloge View Apartments within the incorporated limits of the City, be passed and an emergency be declared and the rule requiring the Ordinance be read at two successive Council mebtings be suspended. The motion that the Ordinance be passed was seconded by Councilman Ames and the Councils vote was unanimous in favor of the Motion. Councilman Brown made a motion that the Council pass a resolution waiving the removal requirements of Section 313 of Public Law 849, of the 76th Congress as amended, as it pertains to the College View Apartments in the North East section of the City. This motion was seconded by Councilman Orr and the Council vote was unanimous in favor of the motion. RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED By the City Counc 1 o �t e City of College Station, Texas, which has jurisdiction over the area in which Project Tex -V-21747 of the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas is located, that the waiver of the removal requirements of Section 313 of the Lanham Act (Public Law 849, 76th Congress, as amended) with respect to said project is hereby specifically approved in accordance with Public Law 796, 80th Congress. Councilman Orr made a motion that the City pay the salary of two City Firemen while they are attending the Texas Firements Training School on the A & M Campus, July llth to 16th; this payment to be made on their half-day attendance record. This motion was,,seconded by councilman Ames and the Council vote was unanimous in favor of the motion. Most of the visitors at this meeting were present to assist Chairmen C. N. Shepardson of the Citizenst Committee on Sanitary Conditions in College Station, in presenting ten groups of recommendations for the betterment of health and living conditions of the people within, m d immediately adjacent to the City, to the Council for consideration. Chairman Shepardson discussed these reoommendations under the following groups: I Garbage Disposal; II Vacant Lots; III Sewerage Disposal; IV Dogs; V Surface Drainage and Tanks; VI Alleys; VII Incorporation of Woodland Estates; VIII Livestock Ordinance; IX Cooperation of Brazos County's Commissioners Court in Areas outside of the City Limits; X Negro Residence Areas. This Committee is composed of fifteen members with all Civic groups of the City represented. Judge A. S. Ware of the Brazos County's Commissioners' Court, and Mr. A. C. Allen, of the Brazos County Health Unit, promised complete cooperation of their offices in bettering the Sanitation and living conditions of the City. At the Conclusion of the meeting 6ounoilman Badgett made a motion that the Council thank these citizens for their interest and recommendations and requested that the organization be kept functioning and give reporba to the Council at intervals.
