HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/04/1948 - Regular Minutes - City CouncilMINUTES OF CALLED MEETING February 4, 1948 The City Council met in a called session February 4, 1948 with the following members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Badgett, Black, Broom and Orr; City Secretary McGinnis and City Manager Vaughn. After a discussion Councilman Orr moved that the City make a part -payment to the Dale Construction Company for work performed on their contract with the City of College Station, the balance to be due only when the work has been accepted by the City, and introduced the following resolution. Seconded by Councilman Black with a unanimous vote in favor of the motion. RESOLUTION WHEREAS the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas has authorized the payment of outstanding obligations of the City of College Station, Texas, in the amount of Six Thousand ($6,000.00) Dollars, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: THAT the Mayor and City Idtanager are hereby authorized and directed to borrow on the general credit of the City of College Station, Texas, the sum of Six Thousand Dollars, PASSED AND AI'1'ROVED this 4th day of February, 1948. Councilman Brown made a motion that the Council establish the sales price for lots in the Cemd;ery to be $1.00 per square foot except in Block "H" where the price shall be $O.50 per square foot. Councilman Badgett seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor of the motion. Councilman Black made a motion that the City Council offer to the Mother's and Dad's Club of A. & M. Consolidated School the right to sell lots in the Cemetery, the club to receive ten per cent of all cash payments on lots and five per cent on deferred payments.
