HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-26-01-11.04 - Resolution - 07/26/2001RESOLUTION NO. 7-26-2001-11.04 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, APPROVING A 380 GtC.~NT TO COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT FOR PRIVACY FENCE AND IMPROVEMENTS. WHEREAS, the Cit'), Council of the City of College Station, Texas, wants to expand its hotel and motel tax base; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, wishes to reduce the impact caused by the elevation differences between the use of the property by Courtyard by Marriott and by adjacent residences; noir, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: PART 1: That the City Council hereby approves the grant application for a 380 Grant to Courtyard by Marriott in the amount of $21,746.50 for the construction of fence and landscaping betxveen Courtyard by Marriott and the adjoining residences. PART 2: That the City Council hereby finds that by approving this 380 Grant it tvill be assisting in the maintenance of the residential property values and will also be assisting in the increase of motel and hotel tax revenues. PART 3: That the City Council hereby authorizes and approves the City Manager to pay the 380 Grant funds to Glenn D. Higdon, President of the General Partnership, Woodcreek Lodging, Inc., upon completion of the project as outlined in the May 21, 2002. The fencing and landscaping are to be completed as soon as good construction practices allow; but no later than the opening of the courtyard. PART 4: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage. ADOPTED this 26th day of July , A.D. 2001.
