HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-15-2005-13.18 - Resolution - 12/15/2005RESOLUTION NO. 12-15-2005-13.18 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, REVISING THE FEES FOR THE COLLECTION OF VITAL RECORDS. WHEREAS, the City Secretary of the City of College Station, Texas is the designated official to issue birth and death records to the public; WHEREAS, the Texas Department of State Health Services has officially amended TEXAS ADMINISTRATIVE CODE Title 25, Chapter 181, changing the fee Texas Vital Statistics charges for the search and issuance of vital records; WHEREAS, as required by TEXAS HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE Chapter 191.0045, local registrars must charge the same fees as charged by the State office; WHEREAS, local registrars and county clerks may collect a fee not to exceed One Dollar and No Cents ($1.00) for the preservation of vital statistics records under TEXAS HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE 191.004(h) and this fee is collected on the issuance of a vital statistic record; and WHEREAS, this dedicated preservation fee may be in addition to the issuance of a birth certificate, first death certificate or additional death certificates ordered at the same time; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: PART 1: The City Council of the City of College Station hereby approves the increase of fees on the issuance of vital records to reflect the following: Birth Certificate (each) $22.00 ($23.00 with $1.00 preservation fee) Death Certificate (first copy) $20.00 ($21.00 with $1.00 preservation fee) Each additional copy $ 3.00 ($4.00 with $1.00 preservation fee) PART 2: That the new fees become effective on December 1, 2005.
