HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-15-2005-13.07 - Resolution - 12/15/2005RESOLUTION NO. 12-15-2005-13.07 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, APPROVING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE ROCK PRAIRIE REHABILITATION — ST0601 PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS. WHEREAS, the City of College Station, Texas, has determined that the unimproved section of Rock Prairie Road east of Greens Prairie Road to the city limit poses a public health or safety concern; and WHEREAS, the City of College Station, Texas, has further determined that improvements to said unimproved roadway (Rock Prairie Rehabilitation — ST0601 Project) is necessary to preserve or protect the public health or safety of the City's residents; and WHEREAS, the selection of Young Contractors, Inc. is being recommended for the construction services related to Rock Prairie Rehabilitation — ST0601 Project; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas: PART 1: That the City Council hereby finds that the unimproved section of Rock Prairie Road east of Greens Prairie Road to the city limit poses a public health or safety concern. PART 2: That the City Council hereby finds that the Rock Prairie Rehabilitation — ST0601 Project is exempt from TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE, Chapter 252, as a procurement that is necessary to preserve or protect the public health or safety of the City's residents. PART 3: That the City Council hereby approves the contract with Young Contractors, Inc. for $ 112,309.00 for the labor, materials and equipment required for the improvements related the Rock Prairie Rehabilitation — ST0601 Project. PART 4: That the funding for this Project shall be as budgeted from the Operating Budget Fund, Street Maintenance Division, in the amount of $112,309.00. PART 5: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
