Ae:ricultural-Open to R- 1. Sine:le-family Residential. Director of Planning and Development Services Joey Dunn remarked that the rezoning request was for the continued single-family residential development in Pebble Creek. The tract was described as located immediately north of Alum Creek. A revised preliminary plat would be submitted to incorporate the additional lots into Phase 9D and 9F of Pebble Creek. The request was in compliance with the Comprehensive Plan. The Land Use Plan element showed this tract for Single-family Low Density. This designation was recently changed through a Comprehensive Plan Amendment process as part of Animate Habitat. The Thoroughfare Plan element of the Comprehensive Plan showed the planned extension of Pebble Creek Parkway, a major collector, immediately adjacent to this tract. Several portions of the planned extension were located on City of College Station property from its southern terminus to the Pebble Creek Development Co. property line and adjacent to this tract were the planned extension of Pebble Creek Parkway located on private owned land, but is off-site from the rezoning request. The Planning and Zoning Commission and staff recommended approval. Mayor Silvia opened the public hearing. The applicant, Davis Young, 3500 Pebble Creek Parkway, spoke in favor ofthe rezoning. Council member Wareing moved to approve Ordinance No. 2794 rezoning the 8.542 acre tract located adjacent to the proposed extension of Pebble Creek Parkway and Alum Creek floodplain from A-O, Agricultural-Open to R-l, Single-family Residential. Council member Lancaster seconded the motion, which carried unanimously, 7-0. FOR: Silvia, Maloney, Massey, Happ, Wareing, Lancaster, Berry AGAINST: None Special Ae:enda Item No.2 - Adiourn. Hearing no objections the special meeting adjourned at 12:20 p.m. PASSED and APPROVED on this 8th day of August, 2005.
