April 17, 1947
Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Ames, Badgett, Black,, Brown,
Orr; City Secretary McGinnis and City Manager Vaughn.
Visitors present : J. Gordon Gay, stay Perryman, H. E. Burgess, C. W,
Crawford, W. K. Colvill.
W. H. Badgett, G. W. Black, and F. B. Brown, Jr. took their oaths as
councilmen and became regular members of the council.
J. Gordon Gay gave a detailed outline of the affairs and activities of the
Recreation Council and introduced Ray Perryman as the new president of
the council.
Following discussion of the report of Mr. Gay the Council approved an
appropriation of $600.00 for the Recreation Council for the summer of
1947.
Councilman J. A. Orr was elected Mayor Pro -tern.
The City Manager was authorized to contract for an audit of city affairs
as of the year ending June 30, 1947.
