Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Ames, Badgett, Black, Harrington
and Orr; City Secretary McGinnis and City Manager Vaughn.
Visitors present: Victor J. Boriskie
Mr. Boriskie was present to request the City Council to sell back to him
that part of the Cemetery which lies south of the old and original part.
This is an area of around four acres and would include all of the lake now
owned by the Cemetery. The council, without official action, informally said
they were not interested in Mr. Boriskie•s proposition to repurchase the plot.
Councilman Badgett made a motion that the City buy from Dr. F. B. Clark and
the Southside Development Company for $2,000.00 the area enclosed by Dexter
and Jersey Streets, except certain areas deeded to Mrs. C. C. Todd, Mr.
R. K. Fletcher and Mr. C. W. Burchard; this area was formerly known as
College Park Lake.
The deed to this property expressed that it should be used for park purposes
,only and included several restrictions some of which were objectionable to
th6 Council. Upon motion by Councilman Harrington and seconded by Councilman
Badgett and a unanimous vote in favor of the motion by the Council the
following paragraph is to follow the restrictions in the deed to the property:
"These restrictions shall remain in force until such time as they may be
changed by a majority vote of the people of the City of College Station".
The motion to purchase this property was seconded by Councilman Ames and the
Council vote was:
For the motion: Councilman Ames, Badgett, Black and Orr
Against the motion: Councilman Harrington.
Councilman Ames introduced a resolution and moved its adoption. The motion
was seconded by Councilman Orr. The motion was adeopted by a unanimous vote
of the Council.
The resolution is as follows:
Whereas, the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, has agreed
to purchase a tract of land in the College Park Addition from Dr. F. B. Clark
for $2,000.00, and
Whereas, the City of College 'Station does not have funds to finance the purchase
of this land, and
Whereas, the City Council of the City of College Station deems it advisable
to borrow the necessary funds,
Therefore, be it resolved and ordered by the City Council of the City of
College Station, Texas;
That the Mayor and City Manager are authorized to arrange from local sources
a loan of $2,000.00 for the purchase of a tract of land in College Park
Addition from Dr. F. B. Clark.

Councilman Orr made a motion that the City purchase from Mr. H. E. Burgess
for $1,000.00 on the terms proposed by Mr. Burgess a tract of land described
as follows: "Being all of lots numbered One (1), Two (2), Three (3), Four (4),
Five (5), Six (6), Seven (7), Eight (8), Nine (9), Ten (10), and Eleven (11),
in Block "B" of the resubdivision of College Park, according to a plat of
said College Park of record in Volume 107, page 151, of the Heed Records of
Brazos County, Texas, and the said lots conveyed herein represent all of the
property in said Block "B"." This property is out of the J. E. Scott League,
Councilman Badgett seconded this motion and the Council vote was:
For the motion: Councilmen Ames, Badgett, Black and Orr
Against the motion: None.
