Members presents Mayor Langford; Councilmen Ames, Crawford, Orr; City Manager
Smith; and City Secretary McGinnis.
Visitors present: J. H. Binney and William Nash.
The Mayor announced that no official business would be transacted as a majority
of the councilmen were not present.
City Manager Smith reported that he had signed for the city an agreement that the
truck recently purchased from the government would not be sold within three
years.
The mayor announced that a community meeting was scheduled for June 6, 1946
at which time there would be a general discussion of extension of sewer lines
and the probable purchase of property for a city cemetery.
A meeting of the City Council was called for 11 a.m. June 8, 1946 to consider
completing negotiations for the purchase of property for a city cemetery.

The following committees were appointed:
City Planning Commission, for two year terms ending with City
election in April 1948, S. R. Wright, Chairman, F. W. Hensel,
and A. P . Boyett.
City Zoning Commission, for three year terms ending with City
election in April 1949, C . J. Finney, Chairman, H. W. Barlow,
J. D. Prewitt, C . 0. Spriggs, and G. F. Boyett.
