Members present: Mayor Langford, Councilmen Ames, Crawford, Harrington ai
Orr; City Secretary McGinnis and City Manager Vaughn.
The Council discussed, in detail, the City' s budget for 1946-1947 as
prepared and presented by City Manager Vaughn.
Councilman Harrington made a motion that the budget be accepted as presented.
This motion was seconded by Councilman Crawford. The Council vote was all
in favor of the motion.
The City Manager was instructed to defer the billing and collection of the
garbage removal fee, as authorized by the City Council, until some later
date and future action of the City Council.
The City Manager was instructed to begin proceedings on the legal phases of
a City bond election for the purpose of issuing bonds to be paid out of
tax revenue for the following purposes: water extension and improvements,
sewer extension and improvement, sewerage disposal plant, purchase of the
College Hills electric lines from the City of Bryan and the Rural Electrification
Authority, the extension and improvement of the City' s electric and power
system, and the construction of a warehouse for the housing of the City' s
equipment and materials.
This bond issue shall be for $100,000.00 and run for a period of twenty years.
