Barrington, G. B. Wilcox, J. A. Orr, C. W. Crawford; City Manager Lloyd D. Smith. Visitors present: F. B. Clark, W. D. Bunting, J. G. Gay, Mrs. F. I. Dahlberg, Mrs. R. B. Hickerson, Mrs. E. B. Reynolds, and Mrs. H. K. Stephenson. Ordinance no. 81 calling for a general election on April 3, 1945 was adopted. C. H. Warren was appointed City Fire Marshal to assume all responsi- bilities and have all authority as outlined in Ordinance 26. With the approval of the Council J. A. Orr, S. R. Wright, and J. T. L. MoNew were appointed as a committee to establish grades and loca- tions of curbs and gutters which may be installed by various citizens of the City. Mr. Orr is to serve as chairman of this committee. Dr. F. B. Clark presented to the Council for its consideration plans Allfor the development of the Kaskaskia Subdivision which he proposes to develop along the southern borders of the City. His request was referred to the above committee. The City Manager was authorized to make the necessary transfers of City funds to pay off a note of $5,000. held by F. G. Anderson. A recreational committee, with J. G. Gay as chairman, presented a resolution for the authorization of a recreational council to be sponsored by the City. The Mayor and Mr. Gay were authorized to pre- pare an Ordinance creating this council. A fund of $300.00 was made available for the immediate use of Mr. Gay' s committee. The City Manager was designated as a representative of the City pending final . approval of a recreational council. A resolution calling for a hearing on the request of the A. & M. Presbyterian Church was adopted, The City Council has under consideration a request filed by the A. & M. Presbyterian Church of College Station for permission to construct a church building on Lots 9, 10, 11, Block 1, of the Oakwood Addition of the City of College Station. In conformity with the requirements of Ordinance 38 entitled '"Zoning Ordinance`", a public hea ring on the request will be held in the Music Room of the Consolidated School at 8 p.m. on March 15, 1945.
