HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/13/1945 - Regular Minutes - City Council MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING September 13, 1945 Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen E. E. Brown, R. L. Brown, Harrington, Wilcox, and Crawford; and City Manager Lloyd D. Smith. The City Manager was instructed to consult with the City Manager of Bryan about an Ordinance to silence mufflers on motorcycles and motor scooters. A petition signed by J. B. Lauterstein and J. H. Binney requesting that lots 1 & 2, Block 1,CollegsPark Addition be zoned to First Business District was tabled until such time as it might be referred to the Zoning Commis ion. The evening of September 18 was selected for a dinner in order that the City Officials might discuss various problems with a selected group of individuals representing various areas and businesses of the City. The City Manager was given permission to close City Office at noon on Saturdays. The Budget for the fiscal year 1945-46 was tentatively appradd and a hearing set for the evening of November 15, 1946 at the City Offices. The Council accepted the recommendation of the Zoning Commission of August 15, twits From the intersection of Taubers Street and Sulphur Springs Road for a depth of 189.4 ft. along Taubers Road and for a frontage from said intersection easterly along Sulphur Springs Road to the intersection of Sulphur Springs Road and Highway 308, be zoned to District No. 4, First Business District.
