Members present; Mayor Langford; Councilmen Brown, E. E. , Brown, R. L. ,
Harrington, Crawford, Wilcox; and City Manager Smith.
On motion of C. ff. Crawford, seconded by G. B. Wilcox, City Manager
Smith was instructed to have published in two issues of the Battalion of
7/7/44 and 7/14/44, the following:•
NOTICE OF BIDS AND INTENTION TO ISSUE STREET IMPROVEMENT WARRANTS
STATE OF TEXAS
CITY OF COLLEGE STATION
Notice is hereby given that bids will be received by the City
of College Station, Texas at a meeting to be held 'on the 20th day of July,
1944 at the City Hall at 8 p.m. The City reserves the right to reject
any and all bids. Copy of plans and specifications are on file with the
City Manager and may be obtained from him; and
In compliance with the provisions of law, notice is hereby given
that it is the intention of the City Council of the City of College
Station, Texas, to pass an ordinance on the 20th day of July, 1944,
authorizing the issuance of the City of College Station Street Improvement
Warrants in the amount of $10,000.00 for the purpose of paying under con-
tract for the construction of certain street improvements in said City,
said construction and improvements to be done under the direct supervision
of and paid by the City as the work progresses. Said warrants to be payable
serially in not less than five years from date; and to bear interest at
the rate of three per cent per annum.
