July 20, 1944
Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Brown, E. E. , Brown, R. L. ,
Harrington, Wilcox; City Manager Lloyd D. Smith; and City Tax Collector
Claude W. Rodgers.
Claude W. Rodgers presented to the Council a complete statement for the
past twelve months.
Purpose of the meeting was to open and tabulate bids on street improve-
ment. No formal proposal was recieved. However, Mr. Joe Bland, of the
Collins-Bland Construction Company of Austin, Texas, was present, and not
being familiar with the nature of the work contemplated, he requested
permission to file a formal bid on August 1, 1944.
This action was acceptable with the Council.
