Present: Mr. Langford, Mayor, Councilmen Orr, YVilcox, and Burns; Mr. Simpson, auditor, and Mr. L. D. Smith. Mr. Simpson.made a report of the progress of his audit to date. Mr. Orr trade the statement, and it was agreed by all the members of the Council. and Mr. Langford, that the Council would accept Mr. Simpson's statement and would not hold L. D. Smith responsible for conditions previous to his taking charge December 1, 1943. Mr. Orr discussed the matter after Mr. ''impson left, and it has favorable to the members of the Council and Mayor, that owing to the fact that the books had not been kept according to the set-mp which Mr. Simpson had outlined, the best solution to arrive at a statement, if agreeable to Mr. Simpson, would be to use the original purchase price of the utilities from the Southside Development Company, Oakwood Realty Company and Col- lege Hills Lstates. All extensions, such as sewer, water, lights, etc., are to be figured by estimates in consultation with Mr. McNew, Mr. 0rr, Mr. Simpson, and Mr. Smith. Mr. Langford made the request that the city office should roma in open until 2:30 on Saturday afternoons, when Saturday falls between the 1st and the 10th of the month.
