HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/16/1941 - Regular Minutes - City Council 9/ Meeting of the City Council, Thursday, October 16, 1041. 1 Members Present: Mayor Anderson, Aldermen Langford, Munson, Lipscomb, and Wilcox. mr. Scott, city manager of Bryan, and Mr. Walker, a member of the Bryor. City Council, met with the Council to discuss the matter of' adding anoth ;r taxi cab between Bryan and College Station. Mr. Zisman and Mr. Swank, met with the Council in regard to the rezoning of four and one-half lots in Boyett Addition, beanng- ing to mr. E. L. Williams, These lots are situated between the 'Jackson and Lloyd property. I A motion was made by Mr. Langford, seconded by 1"r. Wilcox, that the request of Mr. iilliams be referred to the Zoning Commission. Motion carried. It was agreed by the Council to refer to the City Planning Com- mission, the map presented by Mr. Swank of Southeast College Park; property belonging to Dr. Clark, and, to suggest that the Commission consult with the ;1'.i.A, as to its approval of this property. The Council requested Mr. Orr to contact Mr. Garrett, of the District Highway Office, in regard to the approach to Walton Drive from Highway 6, and to woh'k out plans for improvement in drainage. (Mr. Orr was also asked to mention to Mr. Garrett the possibility of starting the work on Sulphur Springs road at the approach from Hwy. 6. ) Motion was made by Mr. 1'angford, seconded by mr. Wilcox, to instruct Mr. Brown to see Mr. Sam Murphy in regard to the repair- ing of the side walk in fron t of the Waldrop Building. ( If an agreement cannot be reached satisfactorily, with Mr. Murphy, the city is to take the entire responsibility. ) Motion was made by Mr. Munson, seconded by Mr. Langford, to in- ) crease Mrs. Sneed's salary to $100 per month. Motion was made by Mr. Langford, seconded by Mr. Munson, that the city of College Station issue a cab license to Erwin Smith. Motion carried. It was agreed also that a letter should go to the City Secretary of. Bryan, instructing him of this motion. Representatives from the City Council of.
