MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL, THURSDAY, AUGUST 7, 1941.
Members Presents Mayor Anderson, Aldermen Munson, Lipscomb, and
Langford.
Mr. Simpson, who audited the city books, and installed an accoun
ing system for the city, met with the Council and gave his report
The Council agreed that Mr. Orr and Mr. McNew are to meet with Mr
Burgess and discuss the placing of culverts in West Park Addition
On motion by Mr. Langford, seconded by Mr. Lipscomb, the Council
adopted Ordinance No, 64 as recommended by Mr. W. M. Simpson;
" An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 59, by fixing the fiscal
Year."
The Council examined certain checks drwwn against the City, and o
which the endorsements did not correspond to the satisfaction. of he
Council. This series of checks covers the period from about Augu t
1940 to present date.
Motion was made by Mr. Langford, seconded by sir. Lipscomb, that the
City pay Mr. Simpson $ 250 and Barham Sisco Jr. $ 175 for auditing
the city's,acoaunts_..and setiing up an accounting system; this arrang-
ement to be contingent upon Mr. Simpson's final call for induction
into the service.
Motion was made by Mr. Langford, seconded by Mr. Munson, that the
city emplpy BErham Sisco to put the accounting system into effect,
aiid employ him at the rate-Of- 64 per hour. Motion carried.
