The City Council met in the City Office on Thursday, February 20, at 7 o'clock with Mayor Anderson, Aldermen Wilcox, Munson, Lip- scomb, Orr and Langford present. Motion was made by Mr. Langford, seconded by Mr. Orr, that the Mayor appoint a committee to make the necessary arrangements to put the city on the county tax dates. Motion carried. The mayor then appointed this committee, composed of Mr. Langford, Mr. Wilcox, and Mr. Barger. j A motion was made by Mr. Munson, seconded by ''r. Lipscomb, that the City Attorney be asked to prepare the Milk and Food Ordin- ance, and refer it back to the city council.. Motion carried. It was agreed that Mr. Wilcox is to take up the preparation of the Stock Ordinance with Mr. Barger. A motion was made by Mr. Langford, seconded by mr. Orr, to instruct Mr. McNew to proceed with the laying of the line and the instal- lation of the fire plugs to the A. & M. Consolidated School. Motion carried. Motion was made by mr. Wilcox, seconded by Mr. munson, to protest any move made to serve any part of College Station with Bryan F.D.R. delivery, and to suggest that the postal inspector look into the advisability of city delivery in College otation. It was agreed that the city attorney be requested to draw up an ordinance pertaining to the use of marble machines within the city. A motion was made by Mr. Lipscomb, seconded by Mr. Langford, to pay Garland Brown a salary of $ 125 per month, as of February 15. Motion carried. It was understood without formal motion that Mr. Langford, Mr. Wilcox, and Mr. Barger would look into the question of pre- paring an accounting system for the city. A Motion wLe made by mr. Lipscomb, and seconded by Mr. Wilcox, to call a General Election, April 1, 1941, for the election of three Councilmen and a City Secretary. Ordinance No. 54'.56 A motion was made by Mr. wilcox, seconded by Mr. Langford, that the elective offices of City Engineer, City health Officer, City Sanitary Engineer, be abolished, and that the Mayor, with the (, ' approval of the Council, appoint officers to fill these posit- ions.
