Minutes of a Meeting of the City Council of College Station, May6. 1q1' \( v The City Council of the City of College Station met in special se,;-- Sion in the City Office at 5 P.M. with mayor Anderson presiding, and Aldermen Langford, Lipscomb, Wilcox; , Off and Munson in attendence. • A motion was made by Langford, seconded by Wilcox to pass on the W. P. A. work which was proposed by A. & M. College and presented by T. R. Spence. Motion carried. Motion wa made by Orr and seconded by .W ilcox to sign the water,, d? contract with Bryan. Motion carried. �> The appointment of C. J. Finney on the Zoning Commission was con- firmed by the Council. A motion was made by Langford, and seconded by Orr to obtain a bond of v 5,000 for the assistant city secretary. Motion carried,. The salary of the deputy city marshall was raised to $ 100, becom- ing effective the 1st of May, 1940. A motion was made by Orr, and seccnded by Lipscomb to amend Or- dinance /f 17 to read as follows: An Ordinance Authorizing the mayor and the City Secretary to Borrow Money - W-48": i ) Be it ordained by the City Council of the 'ity of College �' - Station, Texas: • Authority is hereby given the Mayor Frank G. Anderson and the "ity Secretary Sidney L. Loveless to borrow on behalf and in the name. ,of the City periodically prior to December 31, 1940, pn promissory notes from any commercial bank or other agency upon the basis of sealed bids the amount of fifteen hundred:''dollars',($1500) said borrowed funds to be used for current operating purposes. Motion carried. 10 A motion was made by Langford and seconded by Orr to accept the recommendation as prese nted by the City Planning Board on the city limits of College Station on the north and east. Motion carried. • A motion was made by Langford and seconded by Wilcox to-adapt the tap fees as recommended by the Council Utility Committee. Motion carried.
