Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of College Station
February 6, 1940.
The City Council of the city of College Station met in special
session in the city office on February 6, at 7 P.M. with Mayor
Binney presiding, and Aldermen Gabbard, Wilcox, Jones and Orr
in attendence.
Mr. Burgess and Mr. Boughton met with the Council.
An Ordinance for the adoption of the sale of the Oakwood Utiliti:s
�\ was read by Mr. Barger. Motion was made by Wilcox, and seconded
by Orr that the City Council adopt the ordinance as read by Mr.
Barger. Motion unanimous.
Mr. Boughton discussed with the Council the sale of the utilo
i. iesem—r 7. .n<:s in College Hills Estates. He was asked by the
Council to have an estimate ready for their regular meeting on
February 15th.
Bill Murray, editor of the Battalion, read a letter which he had
written to Mr. Barger, as a complaint for the over-loading of
the Bryan- College Traction Company busses.
Mr. Gabbard reported on an interview with Mr. Eicholz on the
electric maintenance in this area.
It was moved by Orr and seconded by Gabbard to pay $ 270.00 to
the City-County Health Unit. Motion was passed unanimously.
