HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/04/1940 - Regular Minutes - City Council 3 • Minutes of the Meeting of the City Council, Thursday, Jan.4, 1940 The City Council of the City of College Station met on January 4, at 7 P.M. in the City Office, with Mayor Binney presiding, and Aldermen Gabbard, Jones, Lipscomb, Wilcox and Orr; and City Attor ( ) ney J. M. Barger and City Recorder Gorzycki in attendence. motion was made by Gabbard and seconded by Jones to appoint Mayo Binney and Mr. Barger to draw up a contract and present it to Bryan for the supply of water to College. It was agreed that Mr. Orr and Mr. Lipscomb were to contact Dean Bolton to discuss the utility rate for the new theater. The Council agreed to authorize Mr. Orr to see about getting maps of the city made. A motion was made by Jones and seconded by Wilcox to refer to the Utility Committee for their study and recommendation, the matter of proposal, by the Southside Development Company and the Oakwood Realty Company for the sale of their utilities, and to thank Dr. Clark for his information. A motion was made by Jones and seconded by Lipscomb to express to Dr. Clark the appreciation of the Council for his cooperation to the city in working out an estimate of prices for the utilitie. of the Southside Development Company. A motion was made by Lipscomb and seconded by Gabbard to ray a bill of $ 67.75 to the Student Publications. ) The Council agreed that all utility bills are to be paid without action by the Council.
