Minutes of Meeting of City Council on November 17 , 1139.
A special meeting of the City Council of College
Station was held in the City Office on Friday, Nov-
ember 17 , at 7 P.M. , with Mayor Binney presiding
and Aldermen Jones , Wilcox , Gabbard and Orr in
attendence.
Mr. Langford and Mr. Boyett represented the Zoning
Committee , and a letter was read by Mayor Binney
from Mr. Steel, Chairman of the Zoning Committee ,
who was making the final report.
Mr. MoNew , Mr. Burgess , Mx. Leland , Mr. Sandstedt ,
and Mr. Richey were also present .
A motion was made by Wilcox and seconded by Jones ,
to express the appreciation of the Council to the
Zoning Committee for their excellent work.
A motion was made by Orr that the date for the
public hearing of the Zoning Committee be set for
the 8th of December. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Wil.00x and seconded by Jones,
that the Mayor appoint a Planning Board. A rec-
ommendation was made by lvir. Langford to have each
of the following departments represented on the
Board: Architectural, Landscape , Sanitary , Civil
Engineering, and one citizen from the Community.
A letter was read by Mayor Binney from Mayor Langfor.
of Bryan, pertaining to a joint meeting for the dis-
cussion of utility rates.
A letter was read from Mr. McNew to the Council
explaining the needs in connection with the utilitie
which he and Mr . Brown found in making a study of
them.
A motion was made by Orr and seconded by Jones to
pay a bill of 016.85 to the Wallace Printing Company
for tax notices and receipts.
Motion was made by Jones and seconded by Orr to pay
the utility bill for September for 4701.56 , to A. &M.
College.
A motion was passed by the City Council of College
(._ ) Station to invite a representative of the Student
Welfare Committee to sit with the City Council in
its meetings .
It was ado agreed that Mr. Wilcox was
to contact Mr. Angell and Bill Murray to ask for a
representative from the Battalion to sit in. the 00035
Council meetings.
