Minutes of Meeting of City Council on May 18 , 1939 .

The regular meeting of the City Council was held on
May 18 , - 1939 in the Co] lege Station City Office with
Mayor Binney presiding and Aldermen Gabbard , Long , Joljes
and Lipscomb , City Marshall Hopper, City Atttorney Bar-
ger , and City Engineer McNew in attendance. Mr. A. A.
Blumberg, Mr. J. A . Orr and Mr. C. J. Gorzychi were
also present .
Gabbard moved to authorize City Attorney Barger to
investigate the possibility of the City' s getting con-
trol of College Park Lane , and report back as soon as
n possible. Long seconded the motion. Motion carried.
\ ' It was moved by Long requesting College Park Com-
mittee to continue to take care of the roads and general
community interest until • the City could take over. Lip-
scomb seconded the motion. Motion carried.
It was moved by Jones to approve the appointment of
Gorzychi as recorder of the Cornoration court . Gab-
bard seconded the motion , Motion carried .
It was moved by Lipscomb to adopt the following or
dinance 7r 17 Authorizing Mayor and City `"ecretary, to
Borrow Money.
Gabbard seconded the motion and the motion carried .
It was moved by Gabbard to request , a. hearing before
the Board of Directors Friday P.M. June 2 , for the pur
pose of discussing water rates and authorize Mayor to
appoint committee to confer with College Hills estates
to hold up contract with Bryan and the committee to •
• confer with tWBoarcH fsDirectorsfOohmittee concerning
water matters. Long seconded the motion and the motion
r l carried .
UJones moved to adort Mosquito control ordinance.
Long seconded the motion. The ordinance was unanimously
adopt ed. Adjourned .
