Minutes of Meeting of City Council on May 11 , 1939
The regular meeting of the City Council was held on
May 11, 1939 in room 400 Agricultural Building, of the
Agricultural end Mechanical College of Texas , with May-
or Binney presiding and Aldermen Long , Jones , Lipscomb ,
and Gabbard and City Marshall and City Engineer McNew
�--� in attendance. Mr. Steele and Mr. 1 r. ight and Mr. Frank
Brown also met with the council.
The Council authorized the City Secretary to notify
Mr. Brown of his annointment as City Fire Marshall.
On recommendation of McNew to the Council Gabbard
moved to em ploy sufficient hello to ma-1'e a map of Col-
nlege Station, Texas. Jones seconded the motion and tho
motion carried.
GaLbFrd moved to adopt the following resolution:
Be it r . solved b:; the Board of Aldermen of College
Station , Texas that the City of Bru.'an be requested to
comply with their contract to put the streets , where is
water lines were laid , in as good a condition as they
were beforethe lines were laid. There is considerable
dissatisfaction in the area affected and it is the de-
Fire of the Board of Aldermen that this be done immed-
ia� tely.
Lipscomb seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The Council authorized the City Sedretary to notify
the various utility companies ofthe new ordinance naas ,d
with reference to obtaining a franchise .
