Minutes of Meeting of City Council on May 4 , 1939
( ) The regular meeting of. the City Council was held on
May 4, 1939 , in Room 400 Agricultural Building, of the
Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas , with Mayor
Binney presiding and Aldermen Long , Lipscomb , Jones and
Gabbard and City Attorney Barger and City Marshall clop-
I per in attendance.
The following ordinances 7Jere duly presented:
1 . On motion of Jones and seconded by Long the ord-
inance was unanimously adopted. r14 .
2. On motion of Gabbard and seconded by .)ones the
ordinance was unanimously adopted. 71.5.
3. On motion of Lipscomb and seconded by Tons, the
ordinance was unanimously adonted ,. Tr, 16.
It was moved by Lipscomb to grant easement to Bryan
to run water mains through streets of College Station ,
Texas , connecting. with College distributing system.
Gabbard seconded the motion. Motion carried.
It was moved by Jones to authorize the City Marshall
) to purchase material to nut in traffic signs; to author-
ize the City Attorney to purchase such legal forms as
may be needed in corporation court ; to authorize the
City Secretary to nay "1.05 stationery bill to the Lip-
scomb Pharmacy. Long seconded the motion and it carrtesd.
It was agreed that these things should be discussed
next time.

3. Report from taxi-cab committee.
4. Authorize the City Council to borrow money.
5. Sewer and ; arbage.
6. Insurance committee .
