HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/05/1939 - Special Minutes - City Council Minutes of Meeting of City Council on April 5 , 1939 A special meeting of the City Council was held on April 5 , 1939 in Room 400 Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas, with Mayor Binney presiding and Alde,- men Gabbard , Jones , and Wilcox, and City Attorney Bar- ger and City Marshall Hopper, end City Sanitary Engin- eer Steel in attendance. The purpose of the. meeting was to receive the re- turns of the City Election held April 4. Mr. C. W. Crawford , who was in charge of the election submitted the .returns of the clection. On motion of Gabbard and • seconded by Wilcox, the attached elections results were accepted. Mr. Hopper reports that he and Dr. Jones met with C) Dr. Walton and Col. Moore and that Dr. Walton and • Col. Moore are. reviewing the ordinances submitted and will give e report later on. Meeting adjourned. Sidney L`Loveless Secretary, City J. H. Binney Mayor ( I Come on to be considered in a special open meeting of the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, on this the 5th day of April 1939 , the returns on an election duly called to be held and held in afore- said city for the purnose of enabling the qualified voters therein to elect city officers. The returns having been wade by C. W. Crawford , who was duly appointed to serve and did serve as presiding officer of said election, said returns being sealed , with the name of said C. W. Crawford written across. the seals , and said C. W. Crawford in delivering said returns in open meeting of City Council having made oat* before • the Mayor that the returns by him delivered had not been altered or opened since being signed and sealed , the • returns were thereupon opened and canvassed by the City Council , and it appearing that the following votes were respectively cast for the City offices. 1.
