The regular meeting of.:the City Council was held on
March 23 , 1939 , in Room 238 Administration Building of
% .� the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas , with
\ - Mayor Binney presiding and Aldermen Mitchell , Langford „
and Jones, and City Engineer MeNew, City Sanitary Eng-
ineer Steel , City Marshall Hopper and City Attorney
Marger in attendance. The city commission. of Bryan
met .with the College Station City Council and the foll-
owing men were in attendance: Yaeger , Franks , Aston,
Canady, Dansby, Langford , and Henderson.
Mr. Steel reported that he had made a survey of the
problem of pumping sewage from College Park and Oakwood
(r additions into the Co- lege sewer system.
l ) Students Doss , Critz and Murray met with the council
to discuss the Taxi-cab situation. Suggested by Hend-
erson that Edge made a report to both Bryan and Col1egw
governing bodies concerning this matter. On motion of
Mitchell and seconded by Langford it was unanamously
agreed that the city attorneys of both cities meet witi
Mr. Egge to discuss the possibilities of a monopoly
by the Traction Co. Mayor Binney appointed Langford
and Mayor Yaeger appointed Astpn to serve on this com-
mittee to serve with the City Attorneys.
The easement was discussed at some length and it was
( ) agreed that Mr. McNew and Mr. Aston agree on the renta'_
for fire plugs. Mayor Yaeger suo.gested that each Mayor
appoint a committee to discuss rate to sell water to
College Station. On motion of Mitchell and seconded
by Jones the motion carried unanamously.
