kire A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS, AMENDING THE NUMBER OF CEMETERY COMMITTEE MEMBERS FROM
SEVEN (7) TO NINE (9) MEMBERS.
WHEREAS, the City of College Station has owned and operated a city cemetery since 1948; and
WHEREAS, a committee of College Station citizens has continued to serve on the Cemetery
Committee for more than forty -five (45) years for the purpose of advising City Council on all
matters related to the operation of the cemetery; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station passed Resolution No. 1- 23 -97 -d on
January 23, 1997, ratifying the creation and existence of the City of College Station Cemetery
Committee; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 1- 23 -97 -d provided that the Cemetery Committee be composed of
seven (7) members; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station desires to appoint two (2) additional
members to the Cemetery Committee; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
PART 1: That the City of College Station Cemetery Committee shall be composed of nine
(9) members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.
PART 2: That all other requirements for the City of College Station Cemetery Committee
as set out in Resolution No. 1- 23 -97 -d shall remain in effect.
PART 3: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
PASSED and APPROVED this 24 day of August, 2006.
