HomeMy WebLinkAbout4-26-2007-2a - Resolution - 04/26/2007 Lir RESOLUTION NO. 4 -26- 2007 -2a A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A TEXAS HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY PROGRAM GRANT AGREEMENT FOR THE CLICK IT OR TICKET SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation has proposed that the City of College Station participate in its Click It or Ticket Selective Traffic Enforcement Program to increase safety belt use among drivers, front seat passengers and child passengers; and WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation has approved a grant for the City of College Station in the total amount of $6,500.00 for the Click It or Ticket Selective Traffic Enforcement Program; and WHEREAS, the Click It or Ticket Selective Traffic Enforcement Program is effective from May 21, 2007, through June 3, 2007, during which time the City of College Station shall be reimbursed for 100% of the expenses incurred to operate the program; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station believes that the citizens will benefit from the City participating in the Click It or Ticket Selective Traffic Enforcement Program; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: Part 1: That the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, hereby approves the grant agreement for $6,500.00 for the Click It or Ticket Selective Traffic Enforcement Program. Part 2: That the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, hereby authorizes the Mayor to sign the Click It or Ticket Selective Traffic Enforcement Program grant agreement referred to above. Part 3: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage. PASSED and APPROVED this 26 day of April, 2007.
