COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Silvia, Mayor Pro Tem White, Council
members Happ, Gay, McIlhaney, Scotti, Ruesink
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Brown, City Attorney Cargill Jr., Assistant City
Secretary Casares, Management Team
Mayor Silvia called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m.
Special Agenda Item No. 1 -- Presentation, discussion, and possible action on a
resolution to canvass the results of the General Election held on May 12, 2007.
Kay Parker, Central Counting Judge for May 12, 2007 election, citied the resolution
declaring the results official.
Council member Gay moved to approve Resolution No. 5 - 2007 - 01 as presented.
Council member McIlhaney seconded the motion, which carried unanimously, 7 -0.
FOR: Silvia, White, Happ, Gay, McIlhaney, Scotti, Ruesink
AGAINST: None
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS, ACTING AS THE CANVASSING BOARD TO CANVASS THE GENERAL
AND SPECIAL ELECTIONS CONDUCTED ON MAY 12, 2007.
Special Agenda Item No. 2 -- Judge Ed Spillane administered statement of elected
officer and oath of office to newly elected officers.
Municipal Court Judge Ed Spillane acknowledged the sworn statements and oaths by
each newly elected official, Mayor Ben White and Council member Place 2, James
Massey.
Special Agenda Item No. No. 3 -- Presentation of Certificates of Election.

Assistant City Secretary Vonn Casares and Staff Assistant Debbie Cody presented Mayor
White and Council member Massey with a Certificate of Election
Special Agenda Item No. 4 -- Presentation of Service Awards.
Mayor White presented a service plaque to Ron Silvia and John I Lapp.
Special Agenda Item No. 5 -- Adjourn.
Hearing no objections, the meeting adjourned at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2007.
A reception followed for elected officials and guest attending the ceremony.
