AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11, SECTION 5 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES, CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, PRESCRIBING AN
ASSESSMENT FOR GARBAGE DISPOSAL IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION
THAT:
I.
CHAPTER 11, SECTION 5 I. MONTHLY CHARGES: PAYMENT OF IS HEREBY
AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
I. CHARGES; PAYMENT OF
(1) There shall be monthly charges assessed and collected from
each person, firm, or corporation within the city limits
the following monthly assessment charges for garbage
disposal:
Each residential dwelling unit $ 5.25 per month
(single or multi -family not
utilizing semi -automated or
automated commercial -type
refuse containers).
Each residential dwelling unit $ 4.20 per month
utilizing semi -automated or
automated commercial -type refuse
containers.
Places of business that can best $25.60 per month
be serviced by six time per week
handcrew collection, utilizing
plastic bags, without causing a
health, sanitation or litter problem.
Places of business that can best be
serviced by the utilization of a semi -
automated or automated commercial -type
refuse container.
3 cubic yard container $72.00 per month
6 cubic yard container $116.75 per month
(2) Sanitary Landfill Disposal Fee $10.10 per ton
The Solid Waste Superintendent, or his representative, shall be
notified of any new service locations or changes in service levels
and will designate the appropriate service level and/or the size(s)

of the container(s) to be utilized. The Superintendent can require
changes in service levels at any location when the current service
is inadequate and is causing a health, sanitation or litter
problem.
All roll -off container service $50.00 per load
plus $10.10 per
ton landfill
charge.
Grease trap waste, municipally $50.00 per load
registered haulers only, for processing
transported in vacuum trucks. plus $10.10 per
ton landfill
charge.
(3) Payments must be received at the city utility office on or
before the due date to avoid late charges. Payment
received after the due date will be assessed a penalty
equaling ten percent (10%) of the current month's charges
with a minimum charge of three dollars ($3.00).
II.
CHAPTER 11, SECTION 5 IS HEREBY AMENDED BY THE ADDITION OF SUB-
SECTION U. EFFECTIVE DATE OF MONTHLY CHARGE FOR GARBAGE DISPOSAL
AS FOLLOWS:
U. EFFECTIVE DATE OF MONTHLY CHARGES FOR GARBAGE DISPOSAL
These rates shall be effective on all invoices submitted by
the City of College Station to users on or after October
1, 1988.
Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or work of
this ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any
purpose, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected
thereby.
IV.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
V.
And, it is ordained that this ordinance shall become effective from
and after its passage in accordance with the City Charter of the
City of College Station. n0541 7
