SIGN REGULATIONS, OF ORDINANCE NO. 1638, THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, SPECIFICALLY TO DEFINE PENNANTS AND TO PERMIT THE USE OF BANNERS AND CORPORATE FLAGS IN MULTI-FAMILY ZONES AND DEVELOPMENTS. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 1991, on the question of flags and banners; AND WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to amend this section; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: Amend Section 12.3 M. to read: Banners/Flags: One freestanding corporate ban~e~-s~ flag per premise, not to exceed 40 feet in height or 100 sq. ft. in area is allowed in nen-~es~de~a~-~enes multi-family, oommsrolel, and industrial zones or developments. Amend Section 12.3 0.4. (Prohibited Signs) to read: 4. Banners or flags oontaining oopy or logo, excluding the flags of any country, state, city, or school, are prohibited in residential zones and on any residentially developed property (except when flags are used as subdivision signs). Flags as deeoribe4 in 8eotion 12.3 M. and Seotion 12.3. P. will be permitted. Add Section 12.3 0..8 (Prohibited Signs) to read: 8. Banners are prohibited in residential zones and on any resldentia11y zoned property. Banners will be treated as attaohed or freestanding signs, as applioable, when used on oomm~roial or industrial properties. Amend Section 12.3 P.11. (Exempt Signs) to read: 11. Banners-er flags used solely for decoration and not containing any copy or logo and located only in multi-family, oonuneroial, and industri&l distriots oz developments nen- Fes~den~a~-uenesv In multi-family developments, such flags will be restEioted to twont~ five (mS) square feet in aEea, 30 feet in height, and the n,,m~or shall he restricted to no more than ~2 flags per building plot.
