HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-2102 - Ordinance - 12/08/1994ORDINANCE NO 2102 AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 11 876 ACRE TRACT OF LAND CONVEYED TO EDSEL G JONES AND 0 D BUTLER BY DEED RECORDED IN VOLUME 84, PAGE 506, OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY DEED RECORDS FROM R-1 SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL TO C-1 GENERAL COMMERCIAL WHEREAS, on December 8, 1994, the C~ty Council of the City of College Stabon convened and pursuant to notices proscribed by law, held a pubhc hearing with regard to the apphcatlon for the rezonmg of a 11 876 acre tract of land conveyed to Edsel G Jones and O D Butler by deed recorded in Volume 84, Page 506, of the Brazos County Deed Records, sa~d tract being more parhcularly descnbed by metes and bounds as follows BEGINNING al the South comer of the aforemenboned 36 876 acre tract, smd comer also lying m the northeast right-of-way line of Farm-to-Market Road 2154, THENCE northwesterly along the northeast right-of-way line of FM 2154 tOT Ihe following calls N 44° 33' 00" W for a d~stance of 333 05 feet to an angle point, N 28' 17' 41" W for a d~stance of 535 86 feet to an angle point, N 0' 23' 03" W for a d~stance of 175 43 feet to the po~nl of mlersechon of the northeast nghl-ot-way line of FM 2154 w~th the southeast nght-of-way hne of FM 2818, THENCE N 61° 15' 47" E along the soulheast nghl-of-way hne of FM 2818 to a point for corner, THENCE S 45° 34' 04" E across the sa~d 36 684 acre tract for a al,stance of 863 91 feet to a point lying m the southeast hne of the sa~d 36 684 acre tract, THENCE southwesterly along the southeast line of the 36 684 acre Iract for the following calls S 46° 56' 30" W for a distance of 264 41 feet to an angle porn/, S 42° 30' 00" W for a d~stance of 368 O0 feet lo the PLACE OF BEGINNING conlammg 11 876 acres of land more or less WHEREAS, the above-described tract ~s currently zoned R-1 S~ngle Family Residential and the current use ~s pasture land, WHEREAS, the owners of the above-described property, Edsel G Jones and O D Butler, have applied for the rezonlng of sa~d tract to C-1 General Commer- cial, WHEREAS, the City Council of the C~ty of College Station, Texas, heard ewdence as to the Iocabon of the property on the southeast corner of FM 2818 and FM 2154 WHEREAS, evidence was presented that the proposed use of the property wJII be for a golf dr~wng range, and Ordinance No 2102 Page 2 WHEREAS, evidence was presented that the proposed zoning change ~s m accordance w~th the Comprehensive Plan, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION.
