Mayor Nancy Berry CITY OF COLLEGE STATION Home of Texas A&M University' Mayor Pro Tern David Ruesink City Manager Glenn Brown Minutes City Council Special Meeting Monday, May 17, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. City Hall Council Chambers, 1101 Texas Avenue College Station, Texas Council members John Crompton Jess Fields Dennis Maloney Katy -Marie Lyles Lawrence Stewart COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Ben White, Mayor Pro Tem Ruesink, Council members Crompton, Massey, Maloney, Lyles and Stewart STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Brown, Assistant City Manager Merrill, Assistant City Manager Neeley, City Secretary Hooks, Deputy City Secretary McNutt, City Attorney Cargill, Jr., Management Team 1. Call meeting to Order. Mayor White called meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. 2. Presentation, possible action, and discussion of resolution declaring results of City Election May 8, 2010. City Secretary Connie Hooks presented a resolution canvassing the results of the May 8, 2010 General Election. Mayor Pro tem Ruesink moved to approve Resolution No. 05- 17 -10 -02 as presented. Council member Maloney seconded the motion, which carried 7 - 0. FOR: Mayor Ben White, Mayor Pro tem Ruesink, Crompton, Massey, Maloney, Lyles and Stewart AGAINST: None 3. Presentation of Service Awards to Mayor Ben White and Council member James Massey, Mayor Pro tern Ruesink presented three year service awards to Ben White and James Massey. Mayor White and Council member Massey thanked the City of College Station and the citizens for their support during their tenure as elected officials. Page 12 City Council Special Meeting Minutes Monday, May 17, 2010 4. Oath of Office administered to newly elected Mayor and Councilmember, with presentation of Certificate of Election. Municipal Court Judge Ed Spillane administered the oath of office to Mayor Nancy Berry and Council member Jess Fields. Each received their certification of election. 5. Adjourn. Hearing no objections, Mayor Berry adjourned the special meeting at 1:45 pm on Monday, May 17, 2010. Public was invited to a reception for the outgoing officials and newly elected officials.
