This is WTAW, the First 100 Years, I'm Tom Turbiville. Not only was Nat Rezzoffi Coad Miss
WTAW 1959, but before that, she was in the audience, at the Saddle Club Rodeo Arena in Bryan,
August 23, 1955, to see a young upstart from Mississippi named Elvis Presley. That's right. Nat
was 16, and Elvis, well, Elvis was Elvis. She told the story to the WTAW Infomaniacs.

There were five of us that went; we were in high school, 16 years old. We were getting back into
our parents' cars to leave and up walks Elvis Presley. And ‘course, we just all oohed and aahed,
and screamed, and he was really cool. And I, you know, they sent me to get his autograph, and I
asked for his autograph and he said yes. And sure enough, Elvis Presley on a little piece of paper
that I had in my purse. Later, I guess it was probably a year or two, maybe three years, I had--
always had it by my bed, you know, just Elvis was right there. And so, some friends had come
over and they said, “Wow, you are so lucky to have that”. I said, “Yes, I am”. And I had on bright
red lipstick and I kissed that signature, and there went the value of his signature. [Gasps and
reactions of WTAW Infomaniacs interviewers] I don't care. It was worth it.
