00:00:13 Tom Turbiville (TT)
This is WTAW, the First 100 Years, I'm Tom Turbiville. At least as long as I've been around
WTAW, it has been a family that takes care of its own in tough times. I certainly know that, and
Sports Talk's Chip Howard certainly knows it, too.
00:00:30 Chip Howard (CH)
Yeah, I went in to talk to Ben after I'd been diagnosed with colon cancer, and he looked at me
and he said, you'll find that you're in pretty good hands around here. They allowed me the
freedom to leave in the middle of the show on days where I wasn't feeling very well, and through
that 18 months, and experienced stuff that you don't think you'll ever experience. But from that
standpoint, it is a family, because if you're here long enough, you deal with a lot of issues that
people around here have gone through over that period of time, right? And so yeah, from that
standpoint, it's very much a family.
00:01:20 (TT)
Yes, Chip Howard is mighty grateful for the family of WTAW, but he knows, that within these
walls, he's certainly not alone.
00:01:28 (CH)
Yeah, percentage-wise, I don't know, I mean everybody's been touched by it, you know, so it's
hard to say, but yeah, we've had a lot of it. There's no doubt about that. We've certainly had our
share.
00:01:40 (TT)
Yes, Chip Howard is mighty grateful for the family of WTAW, but he knows that within these
walls, he's certainly not alone. Yes, they do have each other's back. At WTAW, the First 100
Years.
