Lindsay, R. D. Radeleff, and C. A. Bonnen; City Manager Ran Boswell and City Secretary Florence Neelley MEMBERS ABSENT: Councilman Homer B. Adams VISITORS PRESENT: W. J. Wischmeyer of Riewe & Wischmeyer, Inc., Connie Martin of the Eagle, Jim Vance of WTAW Radio, Water & Sewer Superintendent Bennie H. Luedke, and Acting City Engineer George R. Ford The meeting was called to order at 3:30 P. M. by Mayor Hervey. Mr. Wischmeyer presented the bid tabulations on Contract "A" Waste Treatment Plant, and Contract "B" Water Lines. R. B. Butler, Inc. of Bryan was the low bidder on Contract "A", and WBF Construction Company, Inc. of Dallas was the lower bidder on Contract "B". Councilman Dale moved the contract for "A" Waste Treatment Plant be awarded to R. B. Butler, Inc. in the amount of $635, 300, and the contract for "B" Water Lines be awarded to WBF Con- struction Company, Inc. in the amount of $166,104, subject to the approval of the Economic Development Administration of the United States Department of Commerce with the City paying any over -run on the project, and authorized the Mayor and City Secretary to sign the contracts with said bidders. The motion, seconded by Councilman Bonnen, was unanimously approved. Mayor Hervey reported he had met with Mr. Cruse and Barbara Sears of the Student Senate and Randy Ross, Vice President of the Student Body at Texas A&M University, relative to the realignment or addition of polling places for the city elections, and the possibility of financial support from the City for the maintenance of Hensel Park since it is used by the citizens of College Station. Councilman Brison discussed the pending agreement with the County on fire protection. City Manager Ran Boswell was instructed to contact County Judge Vance relative to any questions the Commissioners Court may have relative to the agreement. Councilman Bonnen asked if any consideration was being given to the extension of Welsh Street to Jersey Street. Mayor Hervey stated the present council had not considered the extension of Welsh Street and the extension was not in any future plans now under consideration.
