The City Council_ met in special session at 7:00 p.m., October 14.
19514, with the following present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Boyett,
Orr, Seeger, and Sorrels; City Attorney Barger; City Engineer Benson;
City Manager Boswell and City Secretary 14cG;inn.is. The following
visitors were present: E. R. Alexander, Horner Hunter, George Feagan
and Paul Savage, staff writer for the Battalion.
Mr. Alexander requested that a. certain parcel of land along a
.ravine in the rear of his property be vacated by the city and added
to his property. No action was taken as the City Attorney was not
sure that the property belonged to the city.
Without vote, a proposed ordinance authorizing the Mayor to
execute a deed conveying the property abandoned by Ordinance No.
1914 was referred to the City Attorney for an opinion.
Councilman Orr made a motion, seconded by Councilman Seeger,
that the Mayor be authorized to employ a. fiscal agent to assist the
city in the preparation of bond procedures.
The vote of the Council was unanimous in favor of the motion.
Mr. Hunter offered various suggestions as to procedures in the
matter of sewerage extensions, and agreed to have certain definite
proposals for the next council meeting.
The next meeting of the Council was set at 7:00 p.m. October
29, 1954.
