V Councilme 00359 \�\ e v CL Cb A MINUTES OF SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING January 9, 1951 The City Council met in a called session at 3:00 p.m. January 9, 1951, with the following presents Mayor Langford.; Councilmen Ames, Badgett, Black, Fitch., Halpin, and Orr; City Attorney Barger, City Manager Rogers, Assistant City Secretary Boswell, and City Secretary McGinnis. Visitors present: Joel Austin of The -Battalion, Elmer: -Hall of The Bryan. News, and R. H. Baker of Rowles -Winston and Company. This meeting was called to canvass the results of the Revenue Bond Election held on January S, 1951. RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULT OF ELECTION THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF BRAZOS X CITY OF COLLEGE STATION On this the 9th day of January, 1951, the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, convened in Special session at the regular meeting place, with the following members thereof present, to wit: Ernest Langford, Mayor E. E. Ames ) W. H. Badgett G. W. Black ) R. B. Halpin Councilmen J. A. Orr W. D. Fitch ) N. M. McGinnis , City Secretary and the following absent: None , constituting a quorum, at which time the following proceedings were bads Councilman W. IH. ' Badgett introduced a resolution and moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman R. B. Halpin. The motion, carrying with it the adoption of the resolution, prevailed by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Ames, Badgett, Black, Halpin, Orr, and Fitch NOES: None. The resolution is as follows: WHEREAS, On the 11th day of December, 1950, the City Council adopted a resolution and order calling an election to be held in the City of CoJlege Station, Texas, on the Sth day of. "AGAINST THE ISSi?.A:10E OF SEWER SYSTEIV; REVENUE BONDS AND THE PLEDGE OF NET REMENT-J S FOR THE PAYMENT THEREOF, AS SUBMITTED IN PROPOSITION NO. 3". . . . . . . . . . 25 votes. as is reflected in the election returns heretofore filed with. the City Secretary of the City of College Station, Texas; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: 1: That said. election was duly -called; that notice was given in accordance with law -and in accordance with the resolution and order calling the election; that the election was held in accordance with law; that due return of said election has been made by the proper officers; that said election has resulted favorably to the issuance of said bonds; that a majority of the qualified. voters, who owned taxable property in said City and who had duly rendered the game for taxation, voting at said election have voted in favor of the issuance of said bonds. 2. That the City Council be and it is hereby in all things authorized, ordered and directed to issue said bonds and to do any and all things necessary and/or convenient in connection therewith.
